Ugh! Are you as tired of these dark, overcast, dreary days as I am? Finally this morning it seems the sun is trying to peak through a bit. I hope it’s stopping by for a visit in your neighborhood as well. (Don’t forget to download a little bit of printable sunshine before you go!)   […]

Quick Fix!

This past Christmas I upgraded my little hand mixer to a stand mixer (yipee!!) and, as much I love it, I had no idea how crazy heavy it would be.  So far, I’ve been using it once or twice a week so until that changes, it will stay on top of the counter. Since it’s […]

Rustic Window Mirror

Last summer I was poking around my local Re-Store and found a fantastic pile of used windows for $5 each! (If you are looking for used building materials, etc. try your local Re-Store, they are a great resource.) I really didn't know what I would do with them but I grabbed 3 since I knew I'd never find them like that when I did have a project in mind. When I started thinking about doing some rehab on our guest room I found just the perfect project for one of them. I wanted to have a large piece to center over the bed that I could add pictures and other items as I collected them. So I turned the window into a rustic-looking mirror. It's not meant to be so clear that you can do your make-up just a reflective surface to add some character and a bit more light to the room. (click over for more info . . . )

I’m so excited to share my side table rescue with you. I saved this little cutie from a local thrift store. When I found her she was quite sad, covered in layers of random paint, rust, and heaps of nasty grime. (Blech!) She was a steal at $5 and I’ve been on the lookout for a little table just like this for our living room. Pop on over and see her amazing transformation! Not to mention, a great way to smooth out those awful pits and dings in old metal furniture . . .

Getting Down & Dirty

For the month of January, I'm working on kitchen projects, big and small, as much as possible. Today I'm sharing a quick project that will hopefully help you as much as it's helped me. Living in the house with a teenager, even the most well-meaning can be a bit like herding cats. And, even the most mundane of tasks (like loading or cleaning out the dishwasher) can become way worse than it should. So, in an effort to make it clear whether the dishwasher needs loading or unloading I created this little dishwasher printable to clear things up a bit!
